All class space will be
on a first come, first serve basis. Please return your
registration with correct payment early to help ensure placement in your
desired class. This schedule is subject to change based upon
facility availability and a minimum number per class. Classes are
held during the academic school year. Children are grouped by age
and ability level. Classes are offered after school, in the
evenings to accommodate working parents.
Registration form must be filled out
completely and the tuition fee paid before the classes begins.
If not, your child will not be able to participate. Please don’t
disappoint your child and have them sit out a class because their
registration form is not filled out or their tuition isn’t paid.
Ironwood Dance Company does not offer refunds or tuition deductions due
to absence or drop outs. Classes will be canceled or consolidated
(two class sections condensed into one) if minimum number is not met.
A minimum of 8 per class is required. Any class that meets the 8
minimum at the start of session but drops below 6 half way in the
session will be canceled. A cancellation fee of $10.00 will be
charged once classes are in session for the months of October and
November; $25.00 charged for the months of December and January; and NO
REFUNDS of any kind after January 31, 2010 for dropouts without proper
notice directly to program director.
Monthly Payment Reminder:
Monthly payments are always due
on the first of each month. Example: For October
classes, payments are due October 1st. If payment is not received
by IDC as of the 10th day of the month it is subject to a late fee of $5.00.
As a courtesy, IDC will be
e-mailing or handing out
payment reminder statements to students around the last week of each
month. We appreciate it when you include the top portion of your
tuition reminder statement with your payment. Checks need to be
marked with the student’s name and what it is for (tuition, dance wear,
shoes, costume, etc.). If fees become 60 days delinquent your
child will not be able to continue class(s) until full payment is made.
We are
implementing the more earth-friendly delivery of our monthly billing
statements and newsletters via e-mail. Please check your e-mail on a
regular basis.
Check Writing Policy: There
is a $25.00 charge on all returned checks. After one NSF check,
you will be expected to pay for classes with cash or money order.
Dress Code/Appearance: A
dancer should always be properly dressed and groomed. It is
part of the self-discipline, which goes hand-in-hand with dance training
itself. Students MUST
wear the proper attire listed for their specific class(s). All
dress codes will be enforced. Plan ahead…should a student
come without proper attire they will be asked borrow items from our
“lost and found box” or sit out the class. Hair
MUST
be tied back out of the face.
Dancewear/Shoe fitting orders:
Students are asked to have their proper shoes/dancewear for each
class by their first class session. IDC sells
shoes/leotards/tights for your dance needs.
Monday, August 24 through Friday,
August 28 from 3-6 PM
has been set up for the shoe and dancewear fitting order times at the
dance studio located at 330 E. Ayer Street, Ironwood. No orders
will be taken during class times. All orders must be paid
in full when orders are placed. All orders will include 6% Mi.
sales tax.
Arrival/Departure: To
protect the safety of our students, IDC requires that they arrive and
depart as close to the scheduled class times as possible. Parents
are accepting the responsibility for their safety until their class
begins! We require all students be dropped or picked up within
5-10 minutes their class time! We are not set up to provide
childcare!! Please let us know in advance if someone else is
picking up your child.
Snow or Bad
Weather: When the Ironwood Public Schools cancel classes or dismiss school
early because of inclement weather or icy roads, IDC will most likely
cancel classes also. However: Weather and roads
are sometimes clear into the evening, classes may still be held.
Classes will be made up on a scheduled date if canceled. Please double
check with local radio stations for any changes!!
Talking In Class: Your child’s
class time is limited and valuable, talking or goofing around in class
is frowned upon. Instructors require the full attention of
ALL students.
Students are always encouraged to ask questions of the instructor that
are dance related. General conversation should be before or after
class. IDC reserves the right to remove any person(s) that we feel
is being disruptive to our classroom experience.
Class Observation: Observation
time for parents to view their child’s class will be scheduled once a
month during the last 10 minutes of a class. It will be up to the
individual instructor on what day of the month she would like this to be
scheduled. We know you are excited to see how much your kids are
learning, however, parents & friends sitting through class is not
allowed, as it will disturb valuable practice time. Please keep
noise down in waiting area when a class is in session.
Lost & Found: Ironwood
Dance Company is not responsible for lost items. If you are
missing something, please check the lost and found box. Please put
your child’s name on all their dance items (in both shoes).
Recital Costumes:
We
spend many hours determining the correct costumes for each class.
They are always age-appropriate and of the highest quality possible.
Preschool students will need one costume; all other students will need
one costume for each subject they train in.
Costumes are chosen in October
and will need to be paid in full by Saturday, December 19, 2009.
Deposits
– In an effort to ensure that costumes are delivered in time for school
photographs and organized distribution to our students, costume orders
are placed during the December holiday break. Costumes must
be paid for, in full, prior to 12/20/08.
Costume manufacturers do not accept cancellations or offer refunds after
10 days of the order date; therefore IDC does not refund costume
deposits after original order has been placed.

Spring Recital Performance:
Dance is a performing art. Student productions not only give
dancers the thrill of performing, but also provide a strong sense of
accomplishment and a chance to showcase all their hard work and talents.
Tentative dates are: Thursday, June 10th, Friday, June 11th and Saturday,
June 12th, 2010.
Private Lessons: One hour
$25.00. Private
lessons are for those students who will not only perform solos in the
recital but for students who are having difficulty in class and may need
more structured practice time. They are also for those students
who are more serious about dance and desire to accelerate in their
technique.
To Perform A Solo,
Duet and/or Trio for the Spring Recital: You must
be taking two or three classes, have good class attendance and take
at least two private lesson throughout the season. Only one
routine goes into the recital. Please indicate if you are
interested in private lessons, dance subject and teacher you would like
to take your private with.
Handouts and Bulletin Board Information:
IDC produces several newsletters and flyers throughout the season.
They are loaded with lots of important information you will need to know
about. Extra handouts are always available in our waiting area.
In the event your child is absent, it will be your responsibility to
review our bulletin board for any new information that may have been
handed out. Check our web page at
www.ironwooddance.com under
"Newsletter" for all updated information throughout the season.
